Why should I hire a Professional Organizer?

Most people hire professionals when they need a plumber, hair stylist, auto mechanic, and so on.  Each has been specially trained to provide services in their area of expertise.  A Professional Organizer will 

  • view a space with fresh eyes
  • ask the right questions
  • formulate a plan to reach your goals
  • know where to begin and what works
  • suggest solutions and products to fit your needs
  • create systems that make your space manageable 
  • guide clients through the entire organizing process   

Your  friends or family may want to help, but are they professionals?

How can I show you my mess when I feel so overwhelmed, ashamed and embarrassed?

Practically every client feels overwhelmed.  The first step is to ask for help and guidance.  As a Professional Organizer, I want to help you improve your surroundings and your life.  Honestly, not much shocks me.  Over the years I have seen just  about every situation imaginable.  There is no reason to feel shame and embarrassment if you are genuinely attempting to improve your life.


How do I get organized? Where do I begin?

Call or email to schedule an assessment.  Let's meet in person or virtually (using FaceTime, Skype, etc.) for  30-60 minutes to discuss your needs.  I will formulate a game plan, and together we'll work to achieve your goals.  Organizing is extremely personal -- I want you to feel comfortable working with me.  There's a chance I will be re-arranging your underwear drawer or sorting your  bank statements.  If I am not the right organizer for you, I will help you find someone who is.


How long will it take to get organized? How much will it cost?

Everyone is different.  The speed of organizing depends on your decision-making.  Fast or slow, all items need some sort of review.  For this reason, I do not give estimates.  Most organizing sessions are 3-4 hours in length.  After that, most clients are fatigued both mentally and physically.  Sessions are always tailored to fit your needs.  Organizing sessions are 3 hours in length minimum.


Are you going to make me get rid of all my stuff?

No.  My job is to make suggestions and recommendations.  You need to decide what stays and what goes.  It's your stuff and it's your space. 

REMEMBER, clutter is simply delayed decision-making.


What happens to the stuff I toss out?

Items you no longer need or want can be donated, sold, recycled, repurposed, or properly disposed, but we'll try to keep as much as we can out of the landfill.   I will help you determine what needs to go where.  Do you have a favorite charity or organization that could benefit from your castoffs?  I am happy to assist with donations.
